Nokia 6600 Fold
Does the name Nokia 6600 sound familiar to you, and did you think the device looked different? That might just be right. Earlier, we discussed the Nokia 6600 in our section. That phone was from 2003 and stood out for its wide design and navigation. But five years later, there appeared the Nokia 6600 Fold. Not a smartphone, as you might think by that name, but just a simple folding device. Although, we call it simple, but then again this device was not.

The Finns released the device with a focus on design. The phone offered a mirrored exterior with a so-called 'hidden screen' inside the flap. The finish made the Nokia 6600 Fold feel 'massive' and it was a relatively small device. The screen in the flap was an OLED screen, responsive to touch or by double-tapping it. The screen allowed you to read notifications such as missed calls, messages, battery and the time and date. The screen provided a futuristic look.
The Nokia 6600 Fold had a button on the side to open the flap automatically. We know this from the Nokia 6131 released earlier. With this too, you could quickly open the flap. The Fold was a true fashion phone with a metal frame. But what did the phone from Finland offer?

There was a 2.13-inch OLED screen inside and an OLED screen on the outside. The Nokia 6600 Fold offered a 2 megapixel camera, just under 20MB of memory and a Micro-USB port. We also saw an 860 mAh battery, which of course you could swap out still at the time. The phone's weight came out to 110 grams. You could navigate using Nokia Maps.
The Nokia 6600 Fold was received quite positively, although it was mainly for those looking for a stylish phone. The camera was a bit disappointing, but the design made up for a lot. The price was hefty, as the 3G device cost 275 euros. That was seen by many as far too expensive.
