ChatGPT and Spotify work together
Spotify has announced a new partnership with OpenAI, which will now allow you to use ChatGPT to discover music and podcasts. Thanks to this integration, you can ask ChatGPT to find your favourite songs, artists or playlists, and even let you create fully personalised playlists.
To get started, open a conversation with ChatGPT and mention Spotify in your prompt. The first time you do that, ChatGPT will ask you to link your Spotify account. After that, you can easily ask questions, such as:
- "Create a playlist of calm music to study."
- "Find a podcast about technology with interviews from Elon Musk."
Once you make a request, ChatGPT automatically opens the Spotify app and uses your input to find the right content. The music or podcast is not played within ChatGPT, but you can open the suggestions directly in Spotify. This can be done both in the (mobile) app or on desktop.

Possibilities
You can let ChatGPT not only search for specific titles, but also generate recommendations based on mood or theme. The more details you provide, such as genre, mood, artist or subject, the better the results become. For podcasts, you can even add names of hosts or guests.
Spotify stresses that integration with ChatGPT is available to both free and premium users. Free users can choose from existing lists such as Discover Weekly and New Music Friday, while Premium subscribers can use more complex prompts to have completely new, personalised playlists built.
The integration is currently available in English in 145 countries for ChatGPT Free, Plus and Pro users, on both desktop and mobile. Spotify says the feature is still "in its infancy", but according to the company, it will continue to improve in the coming months. According to d music service, no audio or video content will be shared with OpenAI for training purposes.
