Best smartphone up to 300 euros
When you go for a new smartphone, it takes a lot of comparing and figuring out. DroidApp is happy to help you with this. In this article, we give you independent buying advice. Thanks to our years of knowledge, experience with many devices and many user inputs, we can give you a nice list. If you don't want to spend more than 300 euros, there is still plenty to choose from. We put them in no particular order.

Samsung Galaxy A56
You can read all about this fine mid-end smartphone in our Samsung Galaxy A56 review. Samsung's phone comes with everything you need. Including a generous update policy. In total, the smartphone gets six years of updates. The smartphone features a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ display and there is an Exynos 1580 chipset. The phone comes in several pretty colours. The camera performs quite well, but don't expect pictures that will blow you away. There is a 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 5-megapixel macro lens, but don't expect much from the latter. Battery life is rated as good by us.
Want to buy the Samsung Galaxy A56? You can find it at Samsung itself, Coolblue, Mobiel, Belsimpel, Bol.com and MediaMarkt. You can also find the device at KPN, Vodafone, Simyo, Odido and Ben.

OnePlus Nord CE5
OnePlus also has an interesting choice in the more affordable segment: the OnePlus Nord CE5. At 6.77 inches, the smartphone has a slightly larger (AMOLED) screen and offers the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 octa-core processor in the process. The big advantage is that the hefty 5200 mAh battery can be charged quickly with 80W. With battery life, the device scores very well, although the phone leaves points in the photography area. The dual-camera with 50MP main camera and 8-megapixel wide-angle lens are fine for snaps, but if you really care about the camera, we would look further. The OnePlus Nord CE5 gets four Android updates and six years of security updates. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 15.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Looking for a colourful device that performs very well and is also a bit lighter? Then the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is highly recommended as far as we are concerned. In our Motorola Edge 60 Fusion review, the device managed to get a high score. It is very comfortable in the hand and the 5200 mAh leaves a very good impression. At 68W, the device is also recharged in no time. You get three Android updates and six years of security updates, starting from Android 15. For this price, quite okay, but not as good as Samsung. The 50MP main camera and 13MP wide-angle lens manage to take nice photos, both day and night. Only the video camera is a bit wonky at times. But other than that: almost a no-brainer! Not for nothing did this device get consideration at the DroidApp Awards 2025 for best smartphone of the year.
Will you go for the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion? You'll find it at Coolblue, MediaMarkt, Belsimpel, Bol.com and Mobiel.

Samsung Galaxy A36
For a few tens less than the Galaxy A56, you can opt for the Samsung Galaxy A36. We also reviewed this smartphone in detail, in the Samsung Galaxy A36 review. The device is fully equipped and has an excellent battery life. Like the A56, the screen measures 6.7 inches and this device also gets six-year updates. On board, you'll find the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and a 50MP main camera with 8MP wide-angle lens. The Galaxy A36's camera takes nice pictures for its price, performance is good and there is a nice screen. However, the fingerprint scanner is a bit on the slow side.

Oppo A6 Pro
If you want a battery with a long battery life, then the Oppo A6 Pro might be an option. At least, a long-lasting one in terms of battery life, as nothing is known about its update policy. The smartphone has a 6,500mAh battery that you can quickly charge at 80W. As a result, fully charging the battery takes less than an hour. The smartphone features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The Oppo A6 Pro offers a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and is IP69 dust and water resistant. There's a 50-megapixel main camera and a not-very-much-megapixel monochrome lens. In terms of options and features, the camera is quite limited.
Will you opt for the Oppo A6 Pro? The device is available at Coolblue, Belsimpel, Bol.com and Mobiel.
Our recommendation
This is a selection of the best smartphones up to 300 euros. But which one would we choose, if we went shopping with 300 euros for a new device? Surely we can say that we would then go straight for the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. A nice design, good camera and battery life. The update policy is just a little less than Samsung's, though for this price it's still not too bad. If you find updates more important, we would recommend one of the two Samsung devices. And to be honest: we didn't really see a big difference between the two models, although the A56's camera is a bit better.
