December security update released
Every month, Google releases a new security update for the Android operating system. It is doing so now, with the December security update. The new patch addresses dozens of security vulnerabilities. Manufacturers can optimise the new update for their devices. For instance, brands like Samsung usually add patches of their own.
For some time now, exact details about the content of the security patch have not been made public. This is to reduce the chances of vulnerabilities being exploited. A security update distinguishes between the different specifications of devices. The 'severity' of the vulnerabilities also plays a role.
