Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1
After already rolling out several test versions, it is now time for Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1. This new test version once again includes some improvements and optimisations. The new Material 3 Expressive design is the biggest change implemented with this update. Last week, we got to see some of this at The Android Show. Among other things, the new notification bar can also be seen; and the other improvements also return in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.

These beta versions (with the suffix QPR) in the title, prepare the new Android version for the real thing. In fact, the test versions are a lot more stable than the previously released Developer Preview versions, which are mainly meant for developers. Those with access to the beta programme, provided you have the Pixel 6 or newer, can get started with Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1. Google announced last week that it will start distributing the final Android 16 update in June.
